Here’s how it works 👉

Step 1: Kick-off & analysis of the current situation

When you’ve decided to build a brand new website with us (great call, by the way), here’s what’ll happen.

  • We’ll organize a kick-off meeting to go over your primary target audiences and all the relevant technical details. We will also think about functionalities like whether you'd like direct transactions to happen on the site, or rather collect leads for sales. 
  • Then, depending on how much customer insights you have at your disposal, we usually recommend doing some light qualitative customer research (3-5 phone interviews) that will be further complemented with CX, product and CRM data. 
  • Our web analyst will conduct an analysis of the current state of your website (typically by using a combo of Google Analytics and SEMrush), after which we'll be able to make recommendations related to the content, visuals, structure and technical side of your website.

Step 2: Planning

Next we will plan the structure and functionalities of your website; including the most relevant content, sitemaps, wireframes and layouts. We also conduct some keyword research at this point. 

When building websites, we're really into modular website design. Basically this means that the different functionalities and elements are designed so that we can use them in different parts of the site flexibly. This way, we ensure your website can be easily updated and developed further.

Step 3: Technical implementation, copywriting, testing and going live

Once you’re happy with the content, we can upload the content to the content management system. 

Before we go live with anything, we'll build the website in a test environment (Content Staging) where you can test it out before we go live (typically there's still a whole bunch of edits and requests to be done at this point). 

Once everything looks okay, we'll go live!

Step 4: Champagne & optimization 🥂

Right about now, I think we’ve all deserved a good glass of champagne and a pat on the back.

But let’s not get too comfortable because this is where the real work starts. 

Typically a website project will be a combination of a 2 to 3-month intense work phase and a 3 to 6-month support phase. In the second phase we can edit small or larger things on the website once we've gained more data and experience. We can, for example, conduct A/B tests, add personalized content for recognized users (smart content), or create new landing pages for, say, reference stories.
